Tub Tim Krob is one of the most well-known of all Thai desserts and can be found at Tub Tim Krob Siam (Bang Lamphu), which has been operating for more than 50 years. It all started when Ms. Malee, who originally had a business selling coconut products, decided one day to sell her sister’s ruby red dessert, or Tub Tim Krob, at Pratunam Market in Bang Lamphu. Her shop was the first place in Thailand to sell this type of Tub Tim Krob mixed with water chestnuts and Macapuno coconut. The water chestnuts are imported from Suphan Buri province as they are big and not sour. Furthermore, the Macapuno coconut comes from Thap Sakae in Prachuap Khiri Khan province as the flesh is very thick, sweet and delicious.
